I went in a little scared but trusting the process and myself that it was right for me and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Sara and Renee were the two facilitators and each facilitated different plant medicines. They both have very strong, clean centered energy and wisdom. This medicine is not to be taken lightly and preparation and intention is very important. Not everyone in my group was prepared and not everyone had a positive experience. For me, there was a lot of emotional and physical release. It's hard to describe for one who hasn't experienced it, but with the medicine, I felt grateful for all of it even when I was vomiting. The natural beauty and all of the cool animals also shaped my experience. I saw dozens and dozens of monkeys and a few capybara and scorpions and really cool lizards and birds. I spent hours laying in a hammock watching the monkeys. This place connected me back to myself and gave me a love for life that I have lacked for most of my life. 💖💖💖
First off Antonio, Sara, Federico and the rest of the staff were amazing. Sofia with the yoga and sound sessions amazing. We did the 5 day Retreat. We arrived 2 days early and got used to the surrounding area and accommodations. Federico helped us with everything we needed. Each session of each day was amazing. Monkeys cross the property at about 3pm and hangout towards the Temazcal. Food was great and fresh fruit water each day. My wife Jenneva and I went in ready to let the medicines do what they do and the support we had after the Kambo, Aya & Bufo was on point. Rene was our Kambo & Aya shaman and the music tones/sounds he played took us to great beautiful places. Sara did our Bufo & Temazcal — super great experience. Before we even arrived we used WhatsApp to communicate; all questions and concerns answered very quickly. We will be going again — in fact already reached out to Antonio. 6 out of 5 stars ⭐️ easily.
I wanted an authentic experience, and this was definitely it. I did a 5 day retreat with Rapé, Kambo, Ayahuasca and Bufo. I was not very familiar with anything other than Ayahuasca, but as a cancer survivor, I'm SO glad I got to experience the Kambo (although not the most pleasant!). The hotel is in the jungle — very simple, but it feels so magical. I was surprised to find that there were only 2 of us at this retreat; be prepared you may be the only one or have just a few people there. We concluded we were glad we were the only two, as lots of different energies could affect the experience. Sara, Rene and Sofia are all wonderful, they explain everything very well, and they have a very calming presence. I went for the Ayahuasca and had a very spiritual experience, but the Bufo truly gave me the emotional healing that I was hoping for. This is not a fancy, high-end retreat, but it was perfect for me. Just be prepared to “go with the flow” as activity times change a lot.
The hosts are amazing. The location is in the middle of the jungle. The food is really healthy and simple but delicious. It was exactly what I needed. I would go again.
This was one of the best and most interesting retreats I have been to and I've visited many. Sara and her husband are so kind and they really have a nice diverse flexible schedule of events every day. The food is home cooking, healthy, and tasty. We did Kambo, yoga, sound therapy, a cacao ceremony, Rapé, Ayahuasca, Temazcal (sweat lodge) experience, and Bufo. I requested to extend my visit after my scheduled activities concluded and Sara was more than accommodating. The wildlife was fascinating. I loved watching the monkeys climbing around the property. The retreat is close to the airport, so very convenient. It's secluded but also accessible by Uber when and if you want to visit the beach. Rene was an excellent Shaman for Aya and Kambo. Sofia was very helpful with the Temazcal, yoga, and sound therapy.
I was terrified of confronting myself, but the wonderful people and beauty of the earth made the ride as smooth as possible. I’ve known what I needed all along but this experience showed me that I can finally trust my intuition and spread my wings without being afraid of fear. It’s all part of the process. I loved the whole experience and time I spent at the Sanctum Cancun Retreat. It literally was life changing for me. I was nervous before I got there but once I arrived I was no longer nervous — the whole place has a very relaxing environment and vibe and the staff is absolutely amazing, very caring and informative on everything and you can tell that they truly do care; they make you feel like family. I've always had a hard time opening up to people but when I was there they made me feel so understood and supported.
I benefited greatly from this experience. This was my first time participating in this type of healing. I followed the prep directions fairly well. I had made some life decisions and to participate needed to stop taking my daily SSRI's (2012), not as easy as US medical people tell you is when you start on them. Next was to stop drinking at least 3 weeks prior to retreat. Both of these came about through a devastating loss in 2012. My last drink was November 16th. This was also part of my healing during the retreat.
Beautiful environment, excellent food, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable staff, safe comfortable, clean rooms with good water pressure and hot water and A/C. Perfect temperature in shaded jungle. Bottled water available all day. Ceremonies offered were excellent and being my first experience, once complete I can appreciate how they integrate well together. Still learning a lot, looking forward to continue understanding what I have learned and very grateful for the experience.
I can go in depth into the experience I had here but everyone’s experience will be different. To narrow it down, this place healed a lot of trauma I’ve had. I am very gracious to Sara and Antonio and all the healers that helped me in my journey. I did the very extensive 1 week healing retreat which included 1x Bufo ceremony, 1x Kambo ceremony and 1x Ayahuasca ceremony and 1x temezcal ceremony, but they very generously shared their Rapé medicine with me which I am grateful for.
I recently stayed at La Hacienda Cancun, and couldn’t be more impressed with the intimate setting and extremely attentive staff. Antonio and Sara made my stay extremely special, and were fully accommodating with arranging the perfect schedule as well as ad hoc requests. 5/5 stars and look forward to recommending this to friends and visiting again soon.
